Brantajia Loggins (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Humboldt HS) were placewinners for the Augsburg University women's wrestling team on Saturday, as the Auggies competed at the Luther College Open.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Makem, the No. 7-ranked 138-pounder in the National Wrestling Coaches Association preseason national rankings for NCAA-affiliated schools, finished in second place at 160 pounds, going 4-1 on the day with two pins and two technical falls. She reached the finals with a 10-0, 3:18 win over Breanna Wier of Simpson (Iowa), but suffered an injury default loss to No. 2-ranked 160-pounder Alexandra Hofrichter of Dubuque (Iowa) in the finals. Makem is now 8-2 on the season, with both of her losses coming to Hofrichter.
• Loggins finished in sixth place at 207 pounds, going 3-3 on the day with two pins and a 12-1 technical fall, to improve to 5-5 on the season.

Katie Whelan (FY, Harmony, MInn./Fillmore Central HS) went 3-2 at 180 pounds.
