2024 CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL TEAMS
MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg volleyball players
Taylor Hoehns (JR, Cedar Falls, Iowa/Dike-New Hartford HS),
Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS),
Bri Van Well (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) and
Brier Ziemer (SR, Carver, Minn./Chaska HS) were named to the Academic All-District Volleyball Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), it was announced on Tuesday.
Hoehns is a biochemistry major with a 4.00 grade-point average, Rehder is a psychology major with a 3.72 GPA, Van Well is a biology major with a 3.63 GPA, and Ziemer is a psychology major with a 3.87 GPA. It's the second straight year that Rehder and Van Well have earned CSC Academic All-District honors, and the first CSC honors for Hoehns and Ziemer.

A right-side hitter, Hoehns finished fourth on the team with 175 kills (1.62 per-set), to go along with 23 blocks (0.21 per-set) and 79 digs (0.73 per-set). Playing in all 30 matches (108 sets), she had five or more kills in 22 matches, including double-digit kills in four matches. She had a season-best 14 kills in Augsburg's five-set win over Wisconsin-River Falls on Oct. 5. In her three seasons as an Auggie (61 matches, 174 sets), she has 233 kills (1.34 per-set), 114 digs (0.66 per-set) and 32 blocks (two solo, 0.18 per-set). Hoehns earned Academic All-Minnesota Intercolegiate Athletic Conference honors last season, and will do so again this year.

An All-MIAC Honorable Mention selection last year, Rehder had another strong campaign as the Auggies' main libero. Despite missing six matches during the season due to injury, Rehder finished with a team-best 457 digs (5.25 per-set),
ranking third among MIAC liberos in digs per-set and ninth in total digs. She also had 18 service aces (0.21) on the season.
Playing in 92 career matches (305 sets), Rehder finished her career with 1,201 digs (3.94 per-set), ninth in school history in career digs and fifth in career digs per-set. She added 181 assists (0.59 per-set) and 77 service aces (0.25) in her career. Rehder earned Academic All-MIAC honors in both 2022 and 2023, and will do so again this year.

An outside hitter, Van Well became the 15th Augsburg volleyball player to earn
American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III All-America honors, named as an Honorable Mention selection earlier this month. She earned
AVCA Division III All-Region 9 honors, and was named
All-MIAC for the second straight year in 2024. She is a three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree, and will do so again this year.
Playing in her fifth season, Van Well had the best statistical season of her college career, leading the MIAC in total kills (416), with her 3.75 kills per-set average second-best. She hit at a .255 pace, seventh-best among league players, while also contributing 32 blocks (three solo, 0.29 per-set), 222 digs (2.00 per-set) and 23 service aces (0.21 per-set). Van Well's 456.5 points lead all conference players, with her 411 points per-set average third-best.
Playing in 120 career matches, the fourth-most matches played by an Auggie in program history, Van Well finished her career (417 sets) with 1,276 kills, third-most in program history, with her 3.06 kills per-set average third-best, and her .248 career attack percentage ninth-best. She also contributed 139 total blocks (17 solo, 0.33 per-set), 448 digs (1.07 per-set) and 38 service aces in her Auggie career.

A defensive specialist, Ziemer played in all 30 matches (82 sets) for the Auggies, compiling 98 digs (1.20 per-set) with 21 assists (0.26 per-set) and 14 service aces (0.17 per-set). She had double-digit dig totals three times this season, including a 17-dig effort in the Auggies' 3-0 win over Simpson (Iowa) on Sept. 14. Playing in two seasons at Augsburg after competing in 2022 at Division II Metropolitan State-Denver (Colo.), Ziemer recorded 318 digs (1.70 per-set) in 58 Augsburg matches (187 sets), to go along with 42 service aces (0.22 per-set) and 78 assists (0.42 per-set). Ziemer will earn Academic All-MIAC honors for the first time this year.
Under first-year head coach
April Elsbernd, Augsburg finished the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 16-14, holding a 7-4 record in MIAC play.
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the
CSC Academic All-America program. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Academic All-America honorees will be announced in January.
The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
