MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's hockey goalie Samuel Vyletelka (JR, Zilina, Slovakia/Grammar School of St. Francis of Assisi) was named to the CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-America Team, it was announced on Wednesday. In addition, Vyletelka was also named to the All-USCHO Team as a third-team goalie, announced on Friday.

Vyletelka earned Division III West Region First Team All-America honors from the AHCA. A total of 30 players were named to the CCM Hockey/AHCA Division III All-America Team, with 18 players selected to three teams from the East Region and 12 players selected to two teams from the West Region. He is one of three Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players to earn AHCA West Region All-America honors this season. Vyletelka's selection brings the total of Augsburg men's hockey players awarded All-American honors to 42 in program history.

The All-USCHO Division III Team is comprised of three six-member teams (one goalie, two defenders, three forwards), with 11 players also named Honorable Mention. The awards are named by USCHO.com, a national website that covers collegiate hockey.

Playing in goal in all but 41 minutes, 39 seconds of action for the Auggies this season (1,517:58), Vyletelka finished 15-8-2 on the season with four shutouts, with a 2.29 goals against-average and .932 save percentage. His 797 saves were 278 more than any other goalie in the conference, and the third-most saves of any NCAA Division III goalie nationally this season. His .932 save percentage was second-best among conference goalies and 19th nationally. Vyletelka averaged a league-best 30.65 saves per-game, with 30 or more saves in 17 of his 26 games.

In 2023-24, Vyletelka earned MIAC Defensive Player of the Year honors, in addition to All-MIAC honors. Vyletelka is the 10th Auggie to earn an MIAC Player of the Year honor in men's hockey since the 1977-78 season. He earned MIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors three times in 2023-24. He also earned All-MIAC Rookie Team honors in the 2021-22 campaign.

In three seasons as an Auggie (60 games, 3,527:09 in goal), Vyletelka now has a 38-17-3 career record, with a .930 save percentage (1,618 saves) and a 2.06 goals against-average.

Under first-year head coach Garrett Hendrickson, Augsburg finished 15-9-2 overall and 12-3-1 in MIAC play, winning the conference regular-season championship for the 12th time in school history, while reaching the MIAC postseason playoffs for the ninth full season in a row. It's the 10th full season in a row that Augsburg has won 12 or more games, and its eighth straight full season with a top-four MIAC finish.
