MINNEAPOLIS -- Seniors Nina Makem (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) and Madison Horn (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) picked up impressive wins in the final home matches of their collegiate careers, as the Augsburg University women's wrestling team dropped a 28-20 dual-meet decision to the University of Sioux Falls on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Makem, Augsburg's career record-holder in victories (93), technical falls (48) and pins (tied at 26), improved to 9-2 on the season with her fifth technical fall of the season, a 10-0, 2:56 decision at 160 pounds over the Cougars' Ciana Grate. Makem scored a four-point throw 16 seconds into the bout, then used three takedowns to end it early. Makem is now 93-18 in her Augsburg career.
• Horn recorded two victories on the day to improve to 6-3 on the season. Moving up to 180 pounds in her match against Maizy Mathis, she converted a four-point throw into a pin at the 1:54 mark of the first period. In an exhibition match at 145, Horn scored a 4:03 pin of Addaly Pals-Miller, her fourth pin of the season. Horn is now 36-42 in her Augsburg career with nine technical falls and 19 pins.
• Kelsey Cruz Rojas (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS), rallied from a 5-0 first-period deficit with a reversal, pushout and a four-point throw, converting it into a pin 1:05 into the second period over Ciana Grate. Cruz Rojas is now 6-3 on the season with two technical falls and three pins.

FOR THE FOES
• Paige Denke scored a pin at 124 pounds for Sioux Falls, while Paw Hobza (110) and Teila Peters (131) each won by technical fall.
• Aliyah Villarreal picked up a pin at 145 in an exhibition for the Cougars.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg travels to face host Buena Vista (Iowa), Iowa Lakes Community College and Dubuque (Iowa) in a quadrangular meet on Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. in Storm Lake, Iowa.
