MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- Claiming four individual titles and 16 placewinners, the Augsburg University men's wrestling team received solid contributions from many of its reserve wrestlers at the Cornell College Mike Duroe Invitational, held on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Twenty-one Auggie wrestlers competed at the tournament, going 79-28 on the day with 21 pins, 12 technical falls and 13 major decisions. Sixteen Auggies claimed top-eight finishes.

Austin Gabbert (SR, Lester Prairie, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS) won the title at 141 pounds in the Gold division, going 5-0 with a pin, technical fall and two major decisions, including a 12-3 win over Kael Kurtz of Coe (Iowa) in the championship match, improving to 19-8 on the season. Gabbert surpassed the 50-win mark for his college career, now standing at 54-32.

Charlie Stuhl (SR, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS) had a dominant day at 157 pounds in the Gold division, going 5-0 with four technical falls to capture the title. He scored a 15-0, 3:41 technical fall of Cornell's Andrew Parrish in the finals. Stuhl is now 18-2 on the season with two pins, 10 technical falls and a major decision, and is now 110-29 in his Auggie career.
• Two Auggies competed in the Silver division, and both came away with championships.
Cole Sarbacker (FY, Edgerton, Wis./Stoughton HS) improved to 13-3 with the title at 149 pounds, and
Brady Swenson (FY, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS) won the crown at 157, going 4-0 to improve to 16-2 on the year.

Max Borton (SO, Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca HS) finished in second place at 184 pounds, going 4-1 with a pin and major decision.
Ethan Winkelman (FY, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) earned runner-up honors at 197, going 3-1 with a pin and major decision, and
Jagger Schack (SR, Osseo, Minn./Osseo HS) went 4-1 with two major decisions to finish second at 285.

Lucas Jagodzinske (JR, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS) finished in third place at 149, as did
Nick Alexander (SO, Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown HS) at 174.

Cade Willis (JR, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS) finished fourth at 141, as did
Trenton Dow (JR, Stevens Point, Wis./Stoughton HS) at 165. Placing fifth for the Auggies were
Keno Vanier (JR, Edina, Minn./Richfield HS) at 125, Blake Jagodinske (SR, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS) at 157 and
Jacob Schimek (FY, Eagle Lake, Minn./St. Clair HS) at 197.
Max Sokolski (SR, Bonduel, Wis./Bonduel HS) finished seventh at 184, and
Karson Casper (JR, Coleman, Wis./Coleman HS) placed eighth at 149.
