Bati earns 10th MIAC Athlete of Week honor

2025 MIAC MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Mohammed BatiMINNEAPOLIS -- For the 10th time in his career and third time this season, Augsburg University men's cross country runner Mohammed Bati (SR, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.

At Friday's University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational, Bati won his third straight race this season with a 10-second victory over a pair of University of Minnesota runners, with a 24:39.6 time over the 8,000-meter course. He topped a field of 344 runners with his 17th sub-25-minute 8K time in his 22 career races. The win was the 16th of his collegiate career.

It was the eighth win in his last nine races for Bati, who has won three straight MIAC individual titles and finished second at last year's NCAA Division III national championships. Bati is currently ranked third in the latest FloTrack.org NCAA Division III individual national rankings.

Augsburg competes at the Luther College Kent Finanger Invitational this Saturday (10/11) at 11 a.m. at the Calonett Estate in Waseca, Minn.
