
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University forward
Peyton Hanson (SR, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week on offense, it was announced on Monday.
Hanson claimed his first collegiate hat trick, scoring Augsburg's first three goals of the contest, in its 4-2 nonconference victory at Beloit (Wis.) on Wednesday. Hanson scored his first goal at the 16:02 mark of the first period, then added a shorthanded tally at the 8:25 mark of the second period. He completed his hat trick with the go-ahead goal at the 12:44 mark of the second period.
Hanson now has a team-leading five goals with three assists for eight points, with a goal or assist in four of Augsburg's six games this season.
Now 2-2-2 on the year, Augsburg has a MIAC series this weekend against the College of St. Scholastica. Friday's (11/21) game is at 7 p.m. at the Mars Lakeview Arena in Duluth, Minn., and Saturday's (11/22) game is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
