Auggies have 15 personal bests at Minnesota meet

MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University men's and women's track and field student-athletes set 15 personal-best and two more season-best times in competition at the University of Minnesota Snowshoe Open on Friday.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Allison Hookom (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) claimed a pair of event victories to lead Augsburg, winning the 400-meter dash in a personal-best 57.49 seconds and winning the 600-meter dash in 1:35.77. Among Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runners, she now ranks third in the 400 and second in the 600 (1:34.94 on Feb. 8), while ranking 19th-fastest among NCAA Division III runners nationally in the 400.
Brookelyn Young (FY, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and Nacia Griffin (FY, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) both set personal-best times in the sprints, with Young finishing in 8.45 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 28.65 seconds in the 200-meter dash, and Griffin finishing in 8.39 seconds in the 60 and 29.61 seconds in the 200.
• Alwena Brix (FY, Plouay, France/Lycee Jean Mace, Rennes) set a personal-best time for the third straight race in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:28.86.
Annabel Lantz (SR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) set a personal-best time in the mile run in 6:45.54.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Mohammed Bati (JR, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) finished second for the Auggie men in the 3,000-meter run, with an 8:23.39 time. His 8:18.21 time, set on Jan. 24, is currently third-fastest among MIAC runners and 22nd-fastest among NCAA Division III runners nationally, while his 14:15.33 time in the 5,000-meter run, also set on Jan. 24, is best among MIAC runners and ninth-fastest in Division III.
Grayson Harris (SR, Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge HS) set a personal-best time in the 3,000-meter run, finishing in 9:41.68.
• Brandon Travis (FY, Baton Rouge, La./Juan Seguin HS) set a personal-best in the triple jump, finishing sixth with a 13.00-meter (42-feet-8.0) effort, currently 10th-longest among MIAC triple jumpers. He finished 12th in the long jump with a 6.26-meter (20-feet-6.50) leap.
Success Famuyide (JR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) set a personal-best time in the 200-meter dash, finishing 21st in 24.71 seconds. Evan Bitengo (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn./Anoka HS) set a personal-best in the 400-meter dash, finishing 20th in 55.54 seconds, and had a 25.13-second effort in the 200. Carlton Oniya (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) ran the 200 in 25.66 seconds, and Cornelius Irby (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) set a personal-best time in the 200 in 25.96 seconds.
Kyler Badwarrior (FY, Shakopee, Minn./V. Sue Cleveland (N.M.) HS) ran the 400 in 58.50 seconds, and Alex Chan (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Groves Academy) set a season-best time with a 59.69-second effort.
• In the 800-meter run, Kevin Romero Rivera (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Columbia Heights HS) finished 20th in 2:11.21, and Paul Yang (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Washington Tech Magnet HS) finished 21st in a personal-best 2:12.07. Tanner Rouillard-Horne (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Harding HS) set a personal-best time of 2:48.01.
Joshua Lor (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) set a personal-best effort in the shot put, finishing 16th in 11.09 meters (36-feet-4.75).
Henry Nelson (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) set a season-best 4:46.20 time in the mile run.
