MINNEAPOLIS -- Claiming a school-record 21 individual Scholar All-Americans, the most among NCAA Division III teams nationally, the 2024 NCAA Division III national champion Augsburg University men's wrestling team finished in third place in the 2023-24 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III academic team race, with a team grade-point average of 3.81, it was announced recently. All eight NCAA Division III national tournament qualifiers for the Auggies earned Scholar All-American honors this season.
Twenty-one Auggies were named NWCA Division III Scholar All-Americans:

Nick Alexander (SO, Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown HS), a finance major with a 4.00 grade-point average. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 26-5 this season and is 47-14 in his career.

Cole Becker (JR, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), a finance major with a 3.93 GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 9-5 this season and is 69-15 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier at 141 pounds this season.
•
Brandt Bombard (JR, North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS), a business management major with a 3.89 GPA. He finished 28-6 this season and is 54-23 in his career. Bombard earned All-American honors with a national runner-up finish at 184 pounds this season.
•
Karson Casper (JR, Coleman, Wis./Coleman HS), a biochemistry major with a 3.98 GPA. He finished 19-7 this season and is 50-30 in his career.

Austin Gabbert (SR, Lester Prairie, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS), a finance major with a 3.47 GPA. He finished 21-9 this season and is 56-33 in his career.

Seth Goetzinger (SR, Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield HS), an accounting/business management major with a 3.85 GPA. A four-time Scholar All-American, he finished 25-5 this season and is 97-26 in his career. He earned All-American honors for the third time with a third-place national tournament finish at 174 pounds this season.

Blake Jagodzinske (SR, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS), a finance major with a 4.00 GPA. A four-time Scholar All-American, he finished 17-5 this season and is 81-22 in his college career.

Lucas Jagodzinske (JR, Sherburn, Minn./Martin County West HS), a finance major with a 4.00 GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 22-4 this season and is 81-20 in his career.

Wyatt Kaczrowski (SR, Seymour, Wis./Seymour HS), a business management major with a 3.53 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 21-9 this year and is 92-52 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier at 125 pounds this season.

Karsen Otis (SO, Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly HS), an exercise science major with a 3.33 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 22-7 this season and is 51-12 in his career..

Matthew Randolph (FY, Jordan, Minn./Jordan HS (Scott West)), a computer science major with a 4.00 GPA. He finished 31-4 this year, earning All-American honors with a fourth-place national tournament finish at 149 pounds.

Tyler Raway (JR, Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS), a business management major with a 3.76 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 22-8 this season and is 61-25 in his career.

Cole Sarbacker (FY, Edgerton, Wis./Stoughton HS), a business management major with a 3.41 GPA. He finished 14-6 this season.

Jagger Schack (SR, Osseo, Minn./Osseo HS), an exercise science major with a 3.74 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 17-8 this season and is 59-35 in his career.

Carter Sorenson (SR, Lengby, Minn./Fosston HS), a business management major with a 3.92 GPA. A four-time Scholar All-American, he finished 10-5 this season and is 62-20 in his career.

Charlie Stuhl (SR, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS), a finance and accounting major with a 3.98 GPA. A five-time Scholar All-American, he finished 22-2 this season and is 114-29 in his career.

Chance Suddeth (SO, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS), a sports medicine major with a 3.65 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 29-8 this season and is 50-16 in his career. He earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish at 133 pounds this season.

Brady Swenson (FY, Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View HS), an undecided major with a 3.66 GPA. He finished 20-3 this season.

Parker Venz (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS), a health and physical education major with a 3.31 GPA. A three-time Scholar All-American, he finished 19-8 this season and is 88-35 in his career. He was a national tournament qualifier at 197 pounds this season.

Cooper Willis (JR, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS), a finance major with a 3.35 GPA. A two-time Scholar All-American, he finished 30-2 this season and is 98-15 in his career. He earned All-American honors for the third time in his career with a national runner-up finish at 165 pounds this season.

Ethan Winkelman (FY, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS), a finance major with a 3.58 GPA. He finished 22-2 this season.
Since 1983, Augsburg has produced 243 NWCA Scholar All-Americans. Augsburg has had 220 student-athletes honored since 1997. The 2024-25 campaign marks the sixth time in program history, and fourth in a row, in which the Auggies have had 10 or more Scholar All-Americans. Since 1998, Augsburg has finished among the top 15 teams in the academic national listing 23 times, winning the academic national title three times.
Under sixth-year head coach
Tony Valek, Augsburg finished third at the NCAA Division III National Championships in 2025, earning five All-Americans among its eight national tournament qualifiers. The Auggies finished 16-0 in dual meets and also won the NWCA Division III National Duals title this season.
