DUBUQUE, Iowa –
Adam Marshall (SR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had four hits in the doubleheader, with two hits in each game, leading the Augsburg University baseball team in a pair of nonconference losses at the University of Dubuque on Saturday.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Dubuque scored four runs in the first inning, but Augsburg rallied back wiht a run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth, tying the game. Dubuque scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth, coming across on a wild pitch with the runner sliding in under the tag attempt.

Andruw Vela (SO, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) led off the fourth inning with a double, moved to third on a passed ball and came across the plate following a fielding error.
• The Auggies scored three runs in the fifth inning, with the first run coming in on a bases-loaded walk. Marshall and
Elijah Stewart (FY, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) each hit RBI singles to bring in the other two runs.

Myer Schmitz (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) started on the mound and struck out four against one walk in 4.0 innings of work.
Sean Littmann (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) pitched 3.0 innings of scoreless relief with one strikeout, and
Caleb Tays (SO, Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) finished the game.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Spartans scored all their runs in the first five innings, scoring five runs in the second inning to blow the game open.
• Augsburg scored its lone run in the fifth inning, when
Tyson LaPoint (SO, Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake HS) hit a one-out single, moved to third on a passed ball and groundout, and scored on a
Stanley Regguinti (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) double.

Aaron Jones (SO, Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) also had a double in the second game for the Auggies.

Vincent Rupp (JR. Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline HS) one of four Augsburg pitchers used in the game, had four strikeouts in 3.2 innings of relief.
FOR THE FOES
• Jake Cekander went 2-for-4 with a double in the first game for Dubuque.
• Micah O'Neal hit a grand slam home run in the second game.
