Six Auggies named CSC Academic All-District Men's At-Large

MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Augsburg University student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, it was announced this week.
 
Men's golfer Stellan Orvick (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) was named an Academic All-District honoree for the third straight year, while men's wrestler Seth Goetzinger (SR, Chatfield, Minn./Chatfield HS) was named to the squad for the second straight year. Men's hockey player Landon Parker (SO, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) and men's wrestlers Cole Becker (JR, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), Brandt Bombard (JR, North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) and Chance Suddeth (SO, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS) each earned Academic All-District honors for the first time. Bombard, Suddeth and Goetzinger will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members and announced on July 9.
 
Stellan OrvickA management major with a 3.63 grade-point average, Orvick finished his collegiate golf career in the fall half of the 2024-25 season, recording a team-leading 76.9 stroke average (1,000 strokes, 13 rounds), with a .622 (272-165) win-loss percentage. One of 19 players in recorded conference history, and the fourth Auggie, to earn All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors four times in their careers, Orvick finished in a tie for 16th place at the 2024 MIAC Championships (75-81-70--226). Orvick led all Auggies in scoring in each of his five seasons, with four of his campaigns ranking among the top 39 single-season averages in modern program history (since 1994-95). His 73.65 stroke average in the 2023-24 campaign is Augsburg's modern single-season record. Competing in 75.5 rounds in his Augsburg career, Orvick finished with a 75.11 career stroke average, the second-best average in modern program history. In addition to his four All-MIAC honors, Orvick was also named to the Golf Coaches Association of America/PING Division III All-Central Region Team in both 2020-21 and 2021-22, and will be a four-time Academic All-MIAC honoree.
 
Seth GoetzingerA business management major with a 3.86 GPA, Goetzinger earned wrestling All-American honors for the third time in his career with a third-place NCAA Division III National Championships finish at 174 pounds in 2025. He finished 25-5 in his senior campaign, with seven pins, five technical falls and four major decisions. A four-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American, Goetzinger finished seventh at 174 pounds at both the 2024 and 2023 NCAA championships. He finished his Auggie career at 97-26, with 44 pins, 11 technical falls and 13 major decisions. Goetzinger was named Augsburg's senior Honor Athlete for 2024-25 at the annual Auggie Awards ceremony.
 
Brandt BombardA business management major with a 3.91 GPA, Bombard completed his first season as a varsity starting wrestler at 184 pounds with a 28-6 record, claiming six pins, a technical fall and four major decisions. He finished as national runner-up at 184 pounds at the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships, claiming two major decisions in reaching the national title match. He claimed weight-class titles at two tournaments this season, including the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional. Bombard is now 54-23 in his college career, with 11 pins, a technical fall and nine major decisions. He earned NWCA Scholar All-America honors this season.
 
Chance SuddethA sports medicine major with a 3.63 GPA, Suddeth reached the NCAA Division III wrestling national meet for the second straight year at 133 pounds, earning his first All-American honor with a seventh-place national finish. He won three tournament titles during the season, including the crown at the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional. Suddeth finished the 2024-25 season with a 29-8 record, with seven pins, three technical falls and eight major decisions. A two-time NWCA Scholar All-American, Suddeth is now 50-18 in his collegiate career, with 15 pins, nine technical falls and 11 major decisions.

Cole BeckerA finance major with a 3.94 GPA, Becker reached the NCAA Division III wrestling national tournament for the first time in his career in 2024-25. After missing the first half of the season due to injury, Becker finished his junior season with a 9-5 record, with two pins, two technical falls and a major decision. He finished in third place at the NCAA Division III Region VII Regional to earn his national tournament berth. A three-time NWCA Scholar All-American, Becker is now 69-15 in his college career, with eight pins, 12 technical falls and 22 major decisions.

Landon ParkerA business/finance major with a 4.00 GPA, Parker finished his second season on the Augsburg men's hockey team with a team-leading 10 goals, to go along with eight assists, for 18 points, the second-best total on the team. He had a goal or assist in 13 of his 25 games this season, with three multi-goal games. A center, Parker claimed a team-best 249 wins in 426 faceoffs, a .585 percentage tops among Auggie centers. He ranked fifth among MIAC centers in faceoff wins and sixth in faceoff win percentage, tying for 10th in goals scored. In his 51 career games, Parker now has 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points.
 
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the CSC Academic All-America program. The At-Large program covers student-athletes in 10 NCAA men's sports, including Augsburg sports golf, ice hockey and wrestling.
 
Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Select Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
