Six Auggies named CSC Academic All-District Women's At-Large

MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Augsburg University student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, it was announced this week.
 
For the third straight year, women's hockey athlete Emily Cronkhite (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) earned Academic All-District honors, while women's hockey athlete and women's golfer Elizabeth Fagerlind (SR, Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville HS) was named to the academic squad for the second straight year. Women's hockey athletes Nora Stepan (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS), Grace Bonnell (SO, Madison, Wis./Memorial HS) and Emily Schoeberl (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) were named to as Academic All-District honorees for the first time each, along with women's lacrosse athlete Veronica Lopez Nash (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS). Cronkhite, Fagerlind and Stepan will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by CSC members and announced on July 8.
 
Emily CronkhiteA biology major with a 3.95 grade-point average, Cronkhite was named as an American Hockey Coaches Association West Region All-America second-team honoree this season, while also earning All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors for the third straight year -- one of eight Auggies to earn All-MIAC honors three or more seasons in school history. She scored 10 goals with 15 assists for 25 points this season, scoring two power-play goals and contributing a plus-8 plus-minus rating. She scored a goal or assist in 15 of her 29 games, with two multi-goal games and eight multi-point games. Cronkhite finshed seventh among MIAC players in points and fifth in assists. Playing in a school-record-tying 107 games in her career, Cronkhite finished as the third player in school history to reach the 100-point plateau, with 102 points (third in school history), 50 goals (fourth in school history) and 52 assists (tied-third in school history), with seven power-play goals, six shorthanded goals, nine game-winning goals and a plus-52 plus-minus rating. Cronkhite will earn Academic All-MIAC honors three times and AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholar honors four times. Cronkhite and Fagerlind were named co-Augsburg senior Honor Athletes at the Auggie Awards ceremony in April.
 
Elizabeth FagerlindAn accounting/finance major with a 4.00 GPA, Fagerlind earned the MIAC's Elite 22 Award in women's hockey for the second straight year in 2024-25, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA among competing teams in MIAC playoffs in team sports. She was also named as the NCAA Division III Elite 90 honoree in hockey, as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at the NCAA championships final site. A defender in hockey, Fagerlind recorded a goal with four assists for five points in 2024-25, with a plus-three plus-minus rating. In a school-record-tying 107 career games, Fagerlind scored seven goals with 22 assists for 29 points, with three power-play goals, two game-winning goals and a plus-19 career plus-minus rating.
 
In golf, Fagerlind finished the 2024-25 season with a career-best 84.0 stroke average and .636 (273-156) win-loss percentage, the fourth-best single-season scoring average in school history. Competing in 55.5 rounds in her career, she finished with an 84.61 career stroke average, the second-best career average in program history. She will earn Academic All-MIAC honors three times in both golf and hockey, and will earn AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholar honors three times. She was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar in 2021.
 
Nora StepanA biochemistry major with a 3.99 GPA, Stepan was named as a CCM Hockey/AHCA Division III All-America West Region first-team honoree and D3HockeyNews.com All-America West Region second-team honoree. She was named MIAC Defensive Player of the Year this season, while earning All-MIAC honors for the third straight year. She was also named as one of 13 finalists for the AHCA's 2025 Laura Hurd Award, given annually to the best NCAA Division III women's hockey player in the country. Stepan led the Auggies this season with 16 goals and 29 points, while second on the team with 13 assists, with a team-high plus-26 plus-minus rating. Her 16 goals were third-most among MIAC players, while her 29 points were tied for third-most and her 12 assists are tied for 11th. Stepan's 16 goals were the most among all NCAA Division III defenders nationally, with her points total tied for third-most. Stepan was part of an Auggie defense that allowed just 44 goals this season, the fewest among all MIAC teams and tied for 15th-fewest among all NCAA Division III teams. The MIAC Rookie of the Year in the 2022-23 season, Stepan has played in 82 games in her collegiate career, with 32 goals (t-12th in school history) and 35 assists (t-12th) for 67 career points (12th), a plus-62 plus-minus rating (2nd), nine power-play goals and nine game-winning goals. Stepan will earn Academic All-MIAC honors for the second time and AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholar honors for the third time this year.
 
Grace BonnellAn accounting major with a 3.97 GPA, Bonnell earned All-MIAC honors for the first time in her career this year. A defender, Bonnell had a breakout campaign in 2024-25, with four goals and 12 assists for 16 points and a plus-17 plus-minus rating. She had a goal or assist in 13 of her 29 games played this season, and her 12 assists were tied for 11th-most among MIAC players. Bonnell has played in 54 games in her Augsburg career, with six goals and 16 assists for 22 points, three power-play goals, three game-winning goals and a plus-17 plus-minus rating. Bonnell will earn Academic All-MIAC honors for the first time and AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholar honors for the second time this year.
 
Emily SchoeberlAn exercise science major with a 4.00 GPA, Schoeberl scored four goals with seven assists for 11 points in 2024-25, with a power-play goal, a game-winning goal and a plus-4 plus-minus rating. She had a goal or assist in nine of her 28 games played this season. A center, she collected 218 faceoff wins this season. In her 81-game collegiate career, Schoeberl now has 18 goals and 22 assists for 40 points, with three power-play goals, four game-winning goals and a plus-19 plus-minus rating. Schoeberl will earn Academic All-MIAC honors for the second time and AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholar honors for the third time this year.
 
Veronica Lopez-NashAn American Indian studies major with a 3.95 GPA, Lopez Nash scored eight goals with an assist for nine points in 11 games in 2024-25 in women's lacrosse as an attacker. She also claimed seven ground balls, a caused turnover and six draw controls in her first collegiate lacrosse season. She scored a goal in five of her 11 games, with two multi-goal games. Lopez Nash will also earn Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Scholastic Honor Roll honors this season.
 
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the CSC Academic All-America program. The At-Large program covers student-athletes in 12 NCAA women's sports, including Augsburg sports golf, ice hockey and lacrosse.

Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Select Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
