MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University baseball team was recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) with the Team Academic Excellence Award, it was announced this week. Augsburg finished the 2024-25 school year with a team cumulative grade-point average of 3.38.

In order to earn the honor, teams must post a team GPA of 3.0 or above for the entire 2024-25 academic year. Augsburg was one of more than 440 collegiate programs recognized (NCAA D-I, D-II, D-III, NAIA and junior college).

Of the team's 43 players in 2025, 32 Auggies had cumulative GPAs of 3.20 or higher and 18 had GPAs of 3.50 or higher.

Ten Auggies earned Academic All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in 2024-25 -- Dylan Adams (SR, Windermere, Fla./Windermere Prep School), Nick Allbee (JR, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS), Jimmy Hemera (SR, Christchurch, New Zealand/Hillmorton HS), Jacob Henry (JR, Stacy, Minn./Forest Lake HS), Nick Hubbard (SR, Plymouth, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), Aaron Jones (SO, Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS), Ben Kittleson (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS), Austin Lang (JR, Anoka Minn./Anoka HS), Kell Piggott (JR, Superior, Wis./Superior HS) and Josh Udelhofen (SR, Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS). 

Under 22nd-year head coach Keith Bateman, the Auggies finished 16-23 overall and 8-12 in MIAC play in 2025.
