Auggies finish campaign with season-best score

MONTICELLO, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's golf team closed its 2025-26 campaign with its best team performance of the season, finishing with a 602 total at the Saint John's University Spring Invitational tournament, held on Saturday and Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg shot its best two team rounds of the season in the event, with a pair of 301 scores for a 602 team total, finishing in 11th place in the 10-school, 15-team tournament. Four of the six Auggie golfers finished with 36-hole scores of 152 or better. 
• Jack Berry (FY, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) closed his outstanding initial collegiate campaign with his season-best 36-hole finish, placing in a tie for 22nd place in the 85 golfer event with a 4-over-par 147 (74-73).
• Berry finished the season with a team-best 75.67 stroke average, shooting the top 11 individual rounds on the team this season. He recorded scores in the 60s or 70s in 17 of his 21 competitive rounds this season, and his 75.67 stroke average is tied for the 14th-best single-season effort in the modern history (since 1994-95) of Augsburg men's golf.
• Max Gundlach (SO, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) recorded a 36-hole collegiate career-best 151 (75-76) score to finish in a tie for 39th place. His first-round 75 marked his career-best 18-hole score.
Vince Bertram (JR, St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) shot a career-best 36-hole score of 152 (75-77) to finish in a tie for 39th, with his opening 75 a career-best round.
• Hunter Ubel (JR, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) also shot 152 (77-75), also a career-best 36-hole score, to tie for 39th place.
Zachary Reim (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Gentry Academy HS) shot 158 (78-80) to tie for 68th place, and Nick Mountain (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Hill-Murray HS), competing as an individual, shot a career-best 156 (79-77) to tie for 62nd.
• Augsburg finished the 2025-26 campaign with a 315.3 season-long stroke average.
