Swimming 1/17/04 -- Augsburg at Hamline dual meet


ST. PAUL, Minn. (1/17/04) -- Kasi Clauson (Fr., Kansas, Okla./Cookson Hills Christian HS) claimed two individual wins for Augsburg College, the lone victories for the Auggies in a 91-17 dual-meet loss to Hamline University in women's swimming action on Saturday at Hamline.

Clauson won the women's 100-yard butterfly in a personal-best time of 1:06.7 and the 400-yard individual medley in 5:11.4.

Beke Shroyer (Fr., Monticello, Minn./St. John's Prep HS) established a personal-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (1:16.2), while Rachel Forsberg (Fr., Monticello, Minn.) set a personal mark in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:22.1), cutting five seconds off her previous best time.

Lindsey Persons (Fr., Wayzata, Minn./Orono HS) nearly matched her previous personal best in the 50-yard freestyle (31.61 seconds).

Augsburg will return to action at the St. Catherine Invitational on Saturday (1/24) at 1 p.m. at the Butler Center in St. Paul.
