Women's Swimming 11/5/05 -- Augsburg, St. Catherine at Minnesota-Morris Triangular

MORRIS, Minn. (11/5/05) -- Melissa Warfield (Fr., Rogers, Minn./Buffalo HS) claimed two event victories for Augsburg College, as the Auggies opened their 2005-06 women's swimming season with a triangular meet at the University of Minnesota-Morris on Saturday afternoon.

As a team, Augsburg lost 61-27 to the College of St. Catherine and 69-36 to Minnesota-Morris. St. Catherine topped Minnesota-Morris 62-46.

Warfield claimed two sprint victories, a 27.23-second time in the 50-yard freestyle and 1:00.18 time in the 100-yard freestyle.

Liz Wiggen (Fr., Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) claimed a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (6:15.29) and third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle (2:19.29).

Tyrrell Dupey (Fr., Urbandale, Iowa/West Des Moines Dowling HS) had a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:35.47) and third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly (1:12.05).

Stephanie Storlie (Fr., Moorhead, Minn.) scored a third-place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle (13:48.71) and fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:18.86), while Sam Sedlak (Fr., Schamburg, Ill.) finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:13.67) and fifth-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley (2:45.45).

Augsburg returns to action at the Macalester College Invitational on Nov. 19 at 11 a.m.
