Women's Swimming 12/9/06 -- Wisconsin-River Falls 95, Augsburg 66

RIVER FALLS, Wis. (12/9/06) -- Kasi Clauson (Sr., Kansas, Okla./Cookson Hills Christian HS) claimed two event victories for the Augsburg College women's swimming team, leading the Auggies in a 95-66 dual-meet loss to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Saturday afternoon at the Karges Center pool.

Clauson won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:26.87, while also winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.51.

Stefanie Sanders (Fr. Lafayette, Colo.) scored a second-place finish for the Auggies in the 50-yard freestyle (27.81 seconds), while Melissa Warfield (So., Roger, Minn./Buffalo HS) finished in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.41) and placed third in the 50-yard freestyle (28.11). Sonya Stepanova (So., Edina, Minn.) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.93).

Liz Wiggen (Fr., Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) collected two third-place finishes, in the 200-yard freestyle (2:20.39) and 100-yard backstroke (1:17.83). Rachel Doherty (Fr., St. Paul Park, Minn.) had a third-place finish for the Auggies in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:28.11).

Augsburg takes a break for the holidays and returns to action on Friday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. at a triangular meet at the University of St. Thomas.
