MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College wrestling team is the No. 2 seed in its attempt to claim its second straight Division III National Duals championship, with competition set for this weekend in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Augsburg, the No. 2-ranked team in the latest NWCA Division III national polls, will open the National Wrestling Coaches Association/Cliff Keen Division III National Duals presented by Hibiclens on Saturday (1/9) at 11 a.m., facing No. 15-seed Wisconsin-Whitewater, the No. 22-ranked team nationally, at the
University of Northern Iowa's UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Action will continue in the 16-team tournament on Saturday, with the Division III finals set for 3 p.m. on Sunday (1/10).
Wisconsin-La Crosse, the top-ranked team in the latest national polls, is the No. 1 seed in the bracket, with No. 3-ranked Coe (Iowa) ranked third and No. 5-ranked Wartburg (Iowa) ranked fourth in the bracket. Among other Minnesota schools, Concordia-Moorhead is seeded sixth, with St. John's seeded eighth. All 16 teams in the bracket are ranked among the top 30 teams in the latest Division III national poll.

Augsburg will attempt to win its fifth National Duals title this weekend. During the eight-year history of the NWCA Division III National Duals in its current 16-team format, Augsburg (2002, 2005, 2007, 2009) and Wartburg (2003, 2004, 2006, 2008) have each won four championships.
The Auggies enter this weekend's action with a 3-0 dual-meet record and have six individuals ranked nationally, led by defending national champion and top-ranked 197-pounder
Jared Massey (JR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS).
Tony Valek (SO, Belle Plaine, Minn./Scott West) is ranked No. 3 at 149, while
Zach Molitor (JR, Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) is ranked No. 3 at 174.
Jason Adams (SR, Coon Rapids, Minn.) is ranked No. 5 at 157, as is
Andy Witzel (SR, Fulda, Minn.) at heavyweight.
Orlando Ponce (JR, Hialeah, Fla./Hialeah-Miami Lakes HS) is ranked No. 6 at 165.
