MINNEAPOLIS -- Kylee Persing (SR, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) pitched a complete game six-hitter to lead the Augsburg College softball team to a 2-1 win in the second game of a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader against Concordia College Sunday afternoon at Edor Nelson Field. The two teams split the two game series, as Concordia won game one of the doubleheader 7-6 in nine innings.

With the series split, Augsburg (14-18 overall, 7-7 MIAC) remains in contention for a berth into the MIAC postseason playoffs, as the Auggies currently stand two games behind Saint Mary's for the fourth and final playoff spot. Concordia (8-19 overall, 6-8 MIAC) is currently in seventh place in the conference regular season standings.

Persing struck out five and walked three while only allowing one earned run in 10.2 innings of work, as she appeared in both games of the doubleheader. Persing is now tied with teammate Amanda Eaton (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn.) with a team-high eight complete games on the season.

After dropping their second consecutive nine-inning game in as many days, the Auggies struck early in the second game against the Cobbers, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Concordia was able to add a run in the top of the fourth to make it 2-1. Persing was able to pitch out of jams in each of the final three innings to earn the win, as the Cobbers stranded six runners on base in the final three frames.

Bekka Kelly (FY, Columbia Heights, Minn.) led the Auggies at the plate and on the base paths, as she went 3-for-8, with a double and two runs scored while also stealing three bases. Kelly has recorded a hit in four of the Auggies' last five games.

Kelsey Rorabeck (JR, Hudson, Wis./Somerset HS), Mary Hildestad (JR, White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Allyson Ruedy (JR, Waseca, Minn.) went 2-for-6 and drove in two runs each for Augsburg in the doubleheader. Rorabeck and Ruedy recorded a double each, while Hildestad recorded her first stolen base of the season for the Auggies.

Stephanie Saxe (SR, Stacey, Minn./North Branch HS) went 2-for-5 with a walk, while Bri Dorale (JR, Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS) recorded two hits, a run batted in, and a stolen base for Augsburg.

As a team, the Auggies stole seven bases and recorded four doubles in the twinbill.

For Concordia, Kaia Sele (JR, Bemidji, Minn.) went 3-for-6 with a home run and four RBI's, while teammate Kayla Hendrickson (SR, Sartell, Minn.) went 4-for-7 with a run scored.
