BOXSCORE 1 | BOXSCORE 2 ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- The Augsburg College softball team played the Bethel Royals in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader Thursday afternoon. The Auggies were swept by scores of 13-0 and 4-0.

GAME SCORES: Bethel 13, Augsburg 0; Bethel 4, Augsburg 0

RECORDS: Augsburg 9-25 overall (3-13 MIAC), Bethel 22-12 overall (13-3 MIAC)

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• The Royals jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning, extended it in the second with six runs, then put it away in the third with four more runs.
• Bethel recorded 11 hits in the first game compared to Augsburg's three. 
• Each team committed just one error in the five inning game. 
• Lindsay Helbach (SR, Amherst, Wis.) and Courtney Larsen (FY, Little Canada, Minn./Concordia Academy) saw time in the circle for the Auggies. Helbach surrendered seven hits, nine runs (seven earned) and four walks in three innings of work, while Larsen pitched one inning, giving up four hits and four runs. 
• Jacquline Nichols (FY, Royalton, Minn.) and Helbach went 1-for-2, while Jenna Orth (JR, Melrose, Minn.)went 1-for-1 with a stolen base. 

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Helbach was able to hold off the Bethel bats for the first two innings of game two, surrendering just one hit in each of the first two innings. 
• Bethel rallied for three hits and three runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead. 
• Augsburg continued to struggle at the plate, recording just one hit in the game. 
• Bethel added one more run in the sixth after a couple walks, and a throwing error. 
• Augsburg's lone hit in the game came from the bat of Lauren Torborg (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS), who finished 1-for-3. 

FOR THE FOES
• Caroline Kivisto lead the Bethel attack by going 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI. 
• Karli Persson threw seven innings in game two, allowing just one hit, no walks and struck out four.

• Augsburg returns to MIAC action on Saturday (4/18) at 1:00 p.m., with a doubleheader on the road against the College of Saint Benedict.
• Bethel travels for a MIAC doubleheader against Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday (4/18) at 1:00 p.m.
