LOCATION: Macalester Softball Complex, St. Paul, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 8-20 overall (2-8 MIAC), Macalester 16-9 overall (4-4 MIAC)

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
• Augsburg struck first when, with two outs in the top of the first, after Jacquline Nichols (FY, Royalton, Minn.) singled to right and advanced to second on a throwing error, Niznik singled up the middle to bring around Nichols for the score. The Auggies scored again in the third and the fifth, but could not rally to plate the tying run in the sixth or seventh innings.
• Lauren Torborg homered in the top of the third, her third of the season, and the third Augsburg run came in the fifth when Haley Larson (FY, Prior Lake, Minn.) walked and later came around to score on a fielding error.
• Meghan Springborn (FY, Oakdale, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) went 2-for-2 with a walk in game one, and the Auggies finished with seven hits, while Lindsay Helbach (SR, Amherst, Wis.) went 1-for-2, Nichols 1-for-3, Torborg 1-for-4, and Niznik 2-for-3.
• Helbach pitched all six innings, allowing nine hits, four runs (two earned), and two walks, while striking out two.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
• Torborg led off game two for the Auggies with a double. She advanced to third on a Sarah Buckner (JR, Duluth, Minn./East HS) groundout, then scored on a Nichols fielder's choice as the Auggies plated the first run in the game.
• Augsburg held that one run lead until the bottom of the fourth when they scored on a sacrifice fly to center field. Macalester struck again, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on another sacrifice fly.
• Torborg's leadoff double was the Auggies' lone hit in game two, but they reached base with five walks and stole two bases while taking advantage of just one Macalester error.
• Courtney Larsen (FY, Little Canada, Minn./Concordia Academy) threw all six innings for Augsburg, not allowing a single earned run as the Scots took advantage of two Auggie errors and plated runs on sacrifice flys as they only recorded seven hits.
