BOXSCORE 2 MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College softball team scored a sweep of nonconference opponent University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday afternoon at the Edor Nelson Field dome.THE BASICSGAME SCORES: Augsburg 3, UM-Morris 1; Augsburg 10, UM-Morris 2LOCATION: Edor Nelson Field, Augsburg Dome, MinneapolisRECORDS: Augsburg 2-2 overall, UM-Morris 0-4 overallGAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS• The Auggies scored one run in the fifth, then added two more in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead into the seventh inning. UM-Morris attempted a rally, but could only muster one run as the Auggies secured their first victory of the young 2016 season.
• Augsburg recorded eight hits and used three pitchers to earn the victory.
Courtney Larsen (SO, Little Canada, Minn./Concordia Academy HS) started then relieved Carrisa Struve (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) in the top of the sixth and pitched the Auggies out of a bases loaded one out jam.
• Struve picked up the win, while Larsen got a no-decision and
Samantha Anderson (FY, Coon Rapids, Minn.) closed out the seventh inning to earn the save.
• The Auggies were led at the plate by
Ashley Anfinson (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Maryer HS) who finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, and
Haley Larson (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Prior Lake HS) who also finished 2-for-3 and added one run.
• Augsburg only struck out one time, compared to five for UM-Morris
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS• Augsburg consistently put together solid innings at the plate in game two as they scored three runs in the first, one in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth, and three in the seventh to score the 10-2 win over UM-Morris in the second game of a doubleheader.
• Anderson helped her own cause by going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, including a double, a walk and one run scored.
• Anderson pitched her second complete game in as many days, scattering six hits, striking out seven, walking two and allowing two runs. Anderson is now 1-1 with a 1.87 ERA and 23 strikeouts in three appearances and 15 innings of work.

Carly Dropik (FY, Alexandria, Minn.) and
Jenna Orth (SR, Melrose, Minn.) each recorded three hits in game two as Dropik went 3-for-5 with two runs, an RBI and a stolen base, while Orth finished 3-for-4 with a run scored.
• Also recorded mult-hit games were Anfinson and
Taylor Mattice (SO, Woodbury, Minn./Centennial HS) who went 2-for-4 and 2-for-3 respectively. Anfinson scored twice, while Mattice added a double, two RBI and scored a run.
• The Auggies only struck out twice in game two for a total of three in the doubleheader, while UM-Morris struck out 12 times on the day.
FOR THE FOES• Brett Hulett went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI in the doubleheader, while Emily Nordquist and Maegen Knickerbocker went 2-for-4.
• Maegan Anderson pitched game one giving up eight hits and allowing three runs (two earned).
• Erin Kvam threw game two as the Auggies exploded for 16 hits and 10 runs (eight earned).
