2017 UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III MEN'S SOCCERÂ ALL-NORTH REGION TEAM

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's soccer forward
Lionel Vang (SO, Little Canada, Minn./Roseville HS) was named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-North Region Team as a third-team selection, it was announced on Tuesday.
Vang, who was named to the
All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer squad for the second straight year earlier this month, has earned All-North Region honors for the first time in his career.
For the second straight year, Vang led the Auggies in scoring, with six goals and an assist for 13 points, including a game-winning goal. His six goals were tied for 10th-most
among MIAC players in overall statistics, with his 13 points tied for 16th-most. His four goals in MIAC games-only were tied for fourth-most, with his eight points tied for 10th-most. Vang had a goal or assist in six games this season, including the game-tying and game-winning goals in Augsburg's 3-2 win at Concordia.
In his two seasons at Augsburg (34 games), Vang now has 13 goals and three assists for 29 points, including four game-winning goals and two penalty-kick goals. His 13 goals are tied for 15th-most in program history.
Augsburg has had 15 United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) All-Region honorees in program history, all under 15th-year head coachÂ
Greg Holker (two other players earned all-region honors from different organizations). Augsburg finished 8-9-1 overall, 3-6-1 in MIAC play in 2017. Augsburg has recorded eight or more wins in 10 of the last 12 seasons.Â
