Auggies compete at UM Morris dual meet

MORRIS, Minn. -- The Augsburg University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 127-79 decision to the University of Minnesota Morris in a dual meet on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Diver Cassie Lehman (JR, Blaine, Minn./Centennial HS) claimed an event win in the one-meter diving event, scoring 323.35 points, the fourth-best 11-dive score in the event in school history. She finished second in the three-meter diving event with a 316.20 score, the fifth-best 11-dive score in the event in school history.
Mary McSharry (JR, Aurora, Ill./Rosary HS) claimed an event win in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:06.64, while placing second in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:16.44.
Morgan Mangel (SO, St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) notched an event win in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in 1:21.71. She also had a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (58.46 seconds).
Julia Bishop (FY, Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS) finished second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:41.10, while placing third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:14.58). Aundraya Johnson (FY, Maplewood, Minn./Tartan HS) scored a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (30.15 seconds).
• Augsburg's 400-yard medley relay of Bishop, Mangel, McSharry and Kathryn Friesz (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) scored a second-place finish in 4:45.86, while the 200-yard freestyle relay of Felix Mjelde (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), Johnson, Lehman and Kristin Kaldahl (FY, Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East HS) received an event win.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg is now idle until the holiday break, when it will train in Florida and compete in a meet Jan. 7-8 in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
