ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Behind a 23rd-place individual finish by
Morgan Mangel (JR, St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS), the Augsburg University women's swimming and diving team opened its 2019-20 season at the St. Catherine University Pentathlon on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Mangel scored 291.5 individual points, placing 23rd among the 100 women's swimmers and divers in the season-opening competition, which featured five 100-yard swimming events and a one-meter diving competition.
• The holder of six of the seven-fastest times in school history in the 100-yard freestyle, Mangel set a blistering season-opening time of 57.61 seconds in the event to finish 12th. She also placed 20th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:18.75), 23rd in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.34), 27th in the 100-yard individual medley (1:09.51) and 51st in the 100-yard butterfly (1:16.56).

Kristin Kaldahl (SO, Aurora, Minn./Mesabi East HS) recorded a 1:07.95 time in the 100-yard freestyle, a 1:20.30 time in the 100-yard backstroke and a 1:22.94 time in the 100-yard individual medley.

Felix Mjelde (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) swam a 1:22.94 time in the 100-yard individual medley and a 1:49.69 time in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Trinity Boehlke (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) made her collegiate swimming debut with a 1:13.68 time in the 100-yard freestyle.

Alyssa Maciewski (FY, East Bethel, Minn./Coon Rapids, Minn.) and
Patsy Thayieng (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Como Park HS) competed in the one-meter event, scoring 125.00 and 76.70 points, respectively.
