2019 MIAC WOMEN'S SOCCER AWARDS
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University goalkeeper
Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) was named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year, leading a group of seven Auggies to receive conference postseason honors, it was announced on Wednesday.
Chapman was named to the 23-player All-MIAC squad, along with forward
Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS), forward
Gabriela Encarnacion (SR, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS) and defender
Molly Conners (SO, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS). St. Aubin became one of just 17 players in conference women's soccer history to earn All-MIAC honors all four years of their careers, while Encarnacion earned all-conference honors after being named an All-MIAC Honorable Mention honoree last year. The conference honor is the first for Conners.
Defender
Jada Olson (SR, Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was named as an All-MIAC Honorable Mention honoree this year, after earning All-MIAC honors last year and All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in 2017. Defender
Jen Masello (SO, Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South HS) was named All-MIAC Honorable Mention for the first time, and forward/midfielder
Olivia House (SR, Richfield, Minn./Richfield HS) was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team, her first conference honor.
The seven were key players in the continuation of Augsburg's success over the past decade. Under 21st-year head coach
Mike Navarre, the Auggies are returning to the NCAA Division III national tournament for the third time in a six-year span, after winning a share of the MIAC regular-season title and reaching the conference playoff title game for the fifth time in the last eight seasons. Augsburg enters its NCAA run with a 14-3-2 overall record and 9-1-1 mark in MIAC play, marking the eighth straight year of double-digit victories and the sixth straight year earning eight or more conference wins. Augsburg will play Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in a first-round NCAA tournament game on Saturday (11/16) at 1:30 p.m. at the University of Chicago (Ill.).

Chapman's honor is the sixth individual conference postseason award for an Augsburg women's soccer player in program history. St. Aubin was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and MIAC Rookie of the Year in 2016, while
Marie Fitzgerald was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2015, Oliva Muyres was named MIAC Player of the Year in 2014 and Astrid Larssen was named MIAC Player of the Year in 1996.
