MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University women's soccer players
Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS),
Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and
Jada Olson (SR, Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) were named to the Academic All-District 6 Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced on Thursday.
Augsburg had the most players selected to the 11-member academic elite squad, made up of top NCAA Division III women's soccer student-athletes from schools in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. St. Aubin is a mathematics major with a 3.82 grade-point average, Chapman is a chemistry major with a 3.87 GPA and Olson is a biology major with a 3.88 GPA.
It's the third straight year that St. Aubin has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors; she was also a
CoSIDA Academic All-America second-team honoree last season, in addition to earning
United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America second-team and Scholar All-North/Central Region first-team honors. It is the first CoSIDA Academic All-District honors for both Chapman and Olson. All three have earned Academic All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors in both their sophomore and junior seasons.
The three players have been key cogs for an Augsburg women's soccer team that has reached great heights during their careers. Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season champions in both 2017 and 2019 (co-champions), the Auggies have reached the MIAC playoffs each of their four seasons, including reaching the playoff title game in three of their four years. The Auggies will host St. Thomas in the 2019 playoff final on Saturday (11/9) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field, with the winner receiving the MIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III national tournament. Augsburg is aiming for its third playoff title and third NCAA tournament berth, having previously accomplished both in 2014 and 2016. In the three seniors' careers, Augsburg has a 58-19-3 record (.744 winning percentage), including a 33-8-3 (.784) MIAC record. Augsburg enters Saturday's conference final with a 14-3-1 overall record (9-1-1 MIAC), its eighth straight double-digit win season under 21st-year head coach
Mike Navarre.

One of the most accomplished players in MIAC women's soccer history, St. Aubin has rewritten the Augsburg record book, now holding the school's career records for both goals (69) and points (168), while standing third in career assists (30). In 79 career games. St. Aubin has scored at least one goal in 53 games in her career, and the Auggies are 48-4-1 when she scores a goal. St. Aubin has tied the
MIAC women's soccer record for career goals (all games), 69, set by Macalester's Jenny Scanlon (1991-94). The MIAC's women's soccer career points record is 173 (62 goals, 49 assists), held by Heidi Campbell of Saint Mary's (1984-87); St. Aubin's 168 points are third-most in conference history.
In 18 games this season, St. Aubin has 16 goals and eight assists for 40 points, ranking
second among MIAC players in both goals and points, while tied for third in assists. She has led the MIAC in both overall goals and points each of her first three seasons, including a
single-season school-record 21 goals and 53 points (11 assists) last season.
The first player in Augsburg women's soccer history to earn All-America honors in back-to-back seasons, St. Aubin was named a Division III All-American by the
United Soccer Coaches (third team) and
D3soccer.com (second team) in 2018, and by the
United Soccer Coaches (second team) in 2017. She has earned United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honors three times (first team in 2018 and 2017, second team in 2016). A three-time All-MIAC honoree, St. Aubin was named the
MIAC's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and the
MIAC's Rookie of the Year in 2016.

Chapman has earned a reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the MIAC, having earned
United Soccer Coaches All-North Region first-team honors last season. Playing all but 34 of Augsburg's 1,643 minutes in goal this season, Chapman has a 14-3-1 record with seven shutouts, a 0.89 goals-against-average and .846 save percentage, with 88 saves. Her 14 wins and seven shutouts are
most among MIAC goalkeepers, while she ranks third in save percentage and fifth in GAA.
Augsburg's primary goalkeeper the past two seasons, Chapman has played in 67 games in goal as an Auggie, with a 0.84 career GAA and .851 save percentage, compiling a 38-14-1 record with 262 saves and 21 shutouts. Her 38 victories are second-most in school history, her 0.84 GAA is fourth-best and her 21 shutouts are fifth-most. Her .726 winning percentage is third-best in a career in program history.

Olson has provided a steady presence in the Augsburg backfield throughout her career, earning
All-MIAC honors in 2018 and
All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in 2017. Starting all 18 games this season, Olson has been on the field for 1,463 of Augsburg's 1,643 minutes (89.0 percent), the third-most minutes played of any Auggie. Olson was one of the anchors of an Auggie defense that has allowed just 16 goals and a 0.88 team GAA -- both
third-best among MIAC teams this season -- and nine team shutouts, tied for second-most in the MIAC.
Playing in 72 games and 4,972 minutes in her Augsburg career, Olson has recorded five goals with an assist for 11 points, including two game-winning goals.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District team is part of the
CoSIDA Academic All-America program. Top student-athletes from NCAA Division III programs in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan are eligible for inclusion on the District 6 team, one of eight Division III districts nationwide. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.30 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. College sports information directors in the district vote for the teams.
This is the ninth year of the expanded Academic All-America program, with separate teams comprising NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, along with a College Division team of NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools. First-team Academic All-District members advance to the Academic All-America ballot, voted on by a committee of CoSIDA members.
The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
