2019 UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-REGION TEAMS
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University women's soccer players
Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS),
Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and
Gabriela Encarnacion (SR, Bel Air, Md./Bel Air HS) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-North Region Team, St. Aubin as a first-team forward, Chapman as a second-team goalkeeper and Encarnacion as a second-team forward, it was announced on Monday.
St. Aubin became the first Augsburg women's soccer player ever to earn United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-Region honors all four years of her career. She was named a first-team honoree each of the last three seasons, and was a second-team honoree in 2016. Chapman earned her second All-North Region honor, after being named to the first team in 2018. It's the first All-North Region honor for Encarnacion.
It marks the sixth straight year that Augsburg has earned multiple United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honors, and the 10th time the Auggies have accomplished the feat. It's the second time that Augsburg has had three all-region honorees, with the first coming in 2016. Auggie women's soccer players have now earned all-region honors 29 times in program history, including eight players who have earned multiple honors -- St. Aubin, Chapman, Mary Hall (1987, 1988, 1989), Millie Suk (2004-05),
Bri Clark (2011-12),
Molly Allen (2012, 2014),
Olivia Muyres (2013-14) and
Marta Anderson (2015-16).
The trio were key players in the continuation of Augsburg's success over the past decade. Under 21st-year head coach
Mike Navarre, the Auggies returned to the NCAA Division III national tournament for the third time in a six-year span, after winning a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title and reaching the conference playoff title game for the fifth time in the last eight seasons. Augsburg finished the 2019 season with a 15-4-2 overall record and 9-1-1 mark in MIAC play, marking the eighth straight year of double-digit victories and the sixth straight year earning eight or more conference wins.
The three were part of a senior class that combined for a 59-20-4 (.735) overall and 33-8-3 (.784) MIAC record in their four seasons, with two MIAC regular-season championships (2017, 2019), an MIAC playoff title (2016), three MIAC playoff title game appearances (2016, 2018, 2019) and two NCAA Division III national tournament appearances (2016, 2019).

St. Aubin made conference history in her final collegiate campaign, breaking the
conference's 25-year-old record for career goals and tying a 32-year-old conference record for career points. She finished her career with school records for both goals (71) and points (173), adding 31 assists (second in Augsburg history). The old MIAC record of 69 goals was set in 1994 by Macalester's Jenny Scanlon (1991-94), and the old league points record of 173 (62 goals, 49 assists) was set in 1987 by Heidi Campbell of Saint Mary's (1984-87).
She became one of just 17 players in conference women's soccer history to earn
All-MIAC honors all four years of their careers, when she was named to the All-MIAC squad last month. St. Aubin was named the MIAC's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2016.
For the fourth straight season,
St. Aubin led the MIAC's overall statistics in both goals (18) and total points (42), her fourth straight season with 36 or more points. Her nine assists were tied for second-most among league players. She recorded a goal or assist in 18 of Augsburg's 21 games this season. St. Aubin scored at least one goal in 55 games in her 83-game career, and the Auggies were 48-6-1 when she scores a goal.
The first player in Augsburg women's soccer history to earn All-America honors in back-to-back seasons, St. Aubin was named a Division III All-American by the
United Soccer Coaches (third team) and
D3soccer.com (second team) in 2018, and by the
United Soccer Coaches (second team) in 2017. A mathematics major with a 3.82 GPA, St. Aubin earned
CoSIDA Academic All-America second-team honors last season,
CoSIDA Academic All-District honors each of the last three seasons, and
United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America second-team and Scholar All-North/Central Region first-team honors last year. She's also a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree.

The All-North Region honor is the latest in a stellar senior season for Chapman, who was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Year in November, also earning All-MIAC honors.
Augsburg's primary goalkeeper the last two seasons, Chapman has put together some incredible numbers. Playing in all but 34:04 of Augsburg's minutes in goal this season, she finished with a 15-4-2 record with eight individual shutouts, a 0.99 goals against-average and .844 save percentage, with 114 saves in 1,904 minutes in goal.
Among MIAC goalkeepers in overall statistics, Chapman's eight shutouts were tied for the league-high, while her 15 wins were tops in the MIAC. She finished third in save percentage and sixth in GAA.
Chapman appeared in 70 career games in goal, with a 39-15-2 record, 0.88 GAA and an .850 save percentage, with 288 saves in 5,242 minutes in goal and 22 shutouts. Her 39 wins are second-most in school history, her .714 career winning percentage is third-best, her 0.88 GAA is fifth-best and her 22 shutouts are fifth-best. A chemistry major with a 3.87 grade-point average, Chapman earned
College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors in November.

Encarnacion had another spectacular season as dynamic playmaker on an Augsburg offense that scored 48 goals (2.29 per-game) his season,
second-most among MIAC teams in overall statistics. She set individual career bests in every offensive category, scoring 11 goals with seven assists for 29 points, tied for
fifth among MIAC players in points, tied for sixth in goals and tied for seventh in assists. She was named to the
All-MIAC squad in 2019, after being named as an All-MIAC Honorable Mention honoree in 2018.
She had a goal or assist in 13 of her 21 games, including her
first collegiate hat trick in a 3-0 win at Concordia-Moorhead on Oct. 30, and a pair of two-goal efforts -- in a
5-0 win over Northwestern-St. Paul on Sept. 20 and in a
5-1 MIAC playoff semifinal win over Saint Benedict on Nov. 6.
Encarnacion, who transferred to Augsburg playing her first season at St. Mary's (Maryland), played in 60 career games in three seasons as an Auggie, with 20 goals and 11 assists for 51 points. She ranks 10th in school history in goals and 14th in points. In her overall collegiate career (78 games), she finished with 24 goals and 14 assists for 62 points.
