NCAA WOMEN'S 60-METER DASH PRELIMINARY RESULTS

16962BOSTON, Mass. -- Augsburg University women's track and field sprinter Jada Lewis (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) finished 17th in the preliminaries of the women's 60-meter dash at the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships on Friday afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Lewis finished with a 7.84-second time, finishing in fifth place in her heat, one of three staged for the 20 competitors in the field. She will not advance to the eight-runner final on Saturday. The top time in the preliminaries was 7.50 seconds, with all eight finals qualifiers running 7.71 seconds or faster.

Lewis qualified for her first national championships after setting a personal-best 7.72-second time at the Minnesota Parents Day Open on Feb. 16. She followed that with her second straight championship in the 60 at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, finishing in 7.80 seconds.
