MINNEAPOLIS -- In its first ever home dual, the Augsburg University women's wrestling team posted a 30-12 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sunday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg is ranked No. 3 in the latest NWCA/NCAA national rankings and No. 6 in the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association national rankings. 
• Top-ranked 109-pounder Emily Shilson (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Mounds View HS) kicked off the dual with a 10-0 technical fall in a bout that lasted less than 30 seconds. 
• At 123 pounds, Vayle-Rae Baker (FY, Benton, Pa./Wyoming Seminary), ranked No. 3 in the NWCA/NCAA and No. 2 in the WCWA, picked up a pin, her fifth fall of the season, moving her record to 13-2 overall.
• Savannah Vold (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) picked up a big 6-1 decision for the Auggies at 130 pounds, her third victory of the year.
• At 133 pounds, Gabby Skidmore (FY, Spooner, Wis./Cumberland HS) took the forfeit for the Auggies.
• In one of the most evenly matched bouts of the afternoon, Kahlea Jolly (FY, Lino Lakes, Centennial HS) scored a 6-6 criteria decision. In freestyle wrestling, as there is no overtime, the wrestler to score most recently gains the win on criteria.
• Marlynne Deede (FY, Springville, Utah/Springville HS) and Faith Tuttle (FT, North St. Paul, Minn./North St. Paul HS) picked up forfeits for the Auggies at 155 and 191 pounds respectively.

FOR THE FOES
• No. 2 ranked Brooke Thurber and No. 5 ranked Jessika Rottier both earned pins for the Pointers.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg will be in action next at the WCWA National Championships on Feb. 7-8 in Marietta, Georgia.
