Auggie swim & dive claims split in triangular meet

MARSHALL, Minn. -- With solid efforts up and down the roster, the Augsburg University women's swimming and diving team claimed a split of a triangular meet with Concordia-St. Paul at Southwest Minnesota State University on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lexci Wuorenma (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) led the Auggies with a pair strong finishes in the springs. She placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 26.24 seconds, and finished third in the 100-yard freestyle in 58.30 seconds. She also swam the leadoff leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay, with Beth Milam (SO, Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS), Kaitlynne Haag (SO, Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) and Hailey Rathgeber (FY, Dickinson, N.D./Dickinson HS), that finsihed second in 4:05.23
• Rathgeber recorded a pair of fourth-place individual finishes, in the 200-yard freestyle (2:08.32) and 100-yard butterfly (1:06.99)
• Haag finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle (2:10.54) and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.56).
• Milam finished fifth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:31.02) and the 500-yard freestyle (6:05.37).
• Sasha Perez-Ortiz (SO, Brooklyn Center, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished sixth in the 50-yard freestyle (30.95 seconds) and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:17.76).
• Maya Merritt (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) finished eighth in the 50-yard freestyle (33.66 seconds) and sixth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:23.07).
• Katie Kobel (FY, Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington HS) finished seventh in the 200-yard individual medley (2:36.37) and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.37).
• Julia Stensaas (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Roosevelt HS) finished seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.73) and sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.78).
• Alyssa Maciewski (JR, East Bethel, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) finished third in 1-meter diving, with a six-dive total of 123.65 points.
• Augsburg's 400-yard medley relay of Merritt, Stensaas, Kobel and Perez-Ortiz finished fourth in 5:03.98.
