Augsburg track & field competes at SJU/CSB Triangular

MEET RESULTS

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Jada Lewis (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) claimed another victory in the women's 60-meter dash, and Taron Busby (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) set a career-best time in the men's 60, leading the Augsburg men's and women's track and field teams in a triangular meet hosted by Saint John's University and the College of Saint Benedict on Saturday.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Lewis set a season-best time in the 60-meter dash preliminaries, finishing in 8.03 seconds. She recorded an 8.04-second win in the finals. She also placed second in the 200-meter dash, in a season-best 26.96 seconds.
Mya Bishop (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) finished eighth in the 200-meter dash in a season-best 29.86 seconds, and placed third in the 400-meter dash in 1:08.51.
• Jordan Terry (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) fnished third in the long jump, clearing 4.86 meters (15-feet-11.5).
Mary Cole (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Chesterton Academy HS) made her collegiate debut in the shot put, finishing fifth with a 9.74-meter (31-feet-11.5) effort. A'jhianna Jackson (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) finished 10th in the shot put (8.58 meters, 28-feet-1.76) and ninth in the weight throw (8.42 meters, 27-feet-7.5).

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• After running 7.30 seconds in the preliminaries, Busby set a personal-best time in the 60-meter dash for the second week in a row in the finals, finishing third in 7.08 seconds.
• Busby was part of a 2-3-4 finish for the Auggies in the 200-meter dash, finishing fourth in 24.81 seconds. Mitch Lamers (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) finished second in a career-best 24.32 seconds, while Parker Blake (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) finished third in a career-best 24.34 seconds. Lamers finished 10th in the 60-meter preliminaries in a career-best 7.42 time, while Blake finished 13th in 7.67 seconds.
Evan Bergemann (JR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) set a career-best effort in the weight throw, with a 14.02-meter (46-feet-0.0) distance, finishing sixth. David Frimpong (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) set a career-best in the shot put, with a 9.32-meter (30-feet-7.0) effort.
Fritz Landherr (SO, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) set a personal-best time of 54.55 seconds in the 400-meter dash, finishing seventh.
Sakariya Hussien (SO, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) set a season-best time in the mile run, finishing fifth in 4:35.59. Bereket Wondimu (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) took 10 seconds off his previous season-best time with a 5:05.03 finish.
• Kevin Sethre (JR, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) finished ninth in the 3,000-meter run (10:10.10), with Greg Miller (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) finishing 10th in 10:16.80.
• The 4x200-meter relay of Busby, Blake, Lamers and Landherr finished fifth in 1:39.20, and the 4x400-meter relay of Getinat Asfaw (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS), Landherr, Hussien and Wondimu finished third in 4:01.36.
