MEET RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Jada Lewis (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) opened the 2021 indoor track and field season with a pair of top-three sprint efforts, leading Augsburg University at a dual meet at the University of St. Thomas on Friday afternoon. No team results were kept at the meet.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Lewis scored an event win in the women's 60-meter dash, finishing in 8.08 seconds. She also finished third in the 200-meter dash in 27.17 seconds.
• Jordan Terry (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) scored an event victory in the long jump with a 4.99-meter (16-feet-4.50) effort.
• A'jhianna Jackson (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) opened her collegiate career with a second-place finish in the shot put, clearing 9.52 meters (31-feet-3.0). She also finished sixth in the weight throw with an 8.55-meter (28-feet-0.75) effort.
• Mya Bishop (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) opened her career with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash (1:06.78) and fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (30.82 seconds).

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Varney Conneh (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) opened his season with a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, with a 7.18-second effort. He also finished third in the 200-meter dash in 24.02 seconds.
• Taron Busby (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) set a personal-beest time in the 60-meter dash, finishing third in 7.23 seconds, while finishing eighth in the 200 in 24.72 seconds. Mitch Lamers (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) finished seventh in the 60 (7.51) and fifth in the 200 (24.46).
• Sakariya Hussien (SO, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) opened his season with a fifth-place effort in the mile run, finishing in 4:43.72. Getinat Asfaw (FY, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) finished seventh in 5:03.64, Kevin Sethre (JR, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) finished eighth (5:13.35), Bereket Wondimu (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished ninth (5:15.96) and Greg Miller (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) finished 10th (5:16.74).
• In the 400-meter dash, Fritz Landherr (SO, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) finished fifth in 55.70 seconds, while Parker Blake (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) finished sixth in 56.07 seconds.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg will compete at a triangular meet at Saint John's University next Saturday (2/13) at 11:30 a.m., competing with the College of Saint Benedict and Gustavus Adolphus College.
