Auggies compete at Drake, Hamline meets

HAMLINE SHOWCASE RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Evan Bergemann (JR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) competed in the men's javelin throw at both the Drake Relays and Hamline University Showcase over the weekend, leading a group of Augsburg University men's and women's track and field athletes in competition.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Bergemann threw at the prestigious Drake Relays in the men's college division on Friday, finishing 11th with a throw of 47.06 meters (154-feet-4), competing on a mondo surface for the first time in his career. At the Hamline Showcase on Saturday, competing on a grass surface, he won the event with a throw of 50.30 meters (165-feet-0), his fourth time reaching the 50-meter mark in competition this season. His career-best throw of a school-record 57.49 meters (188-feet-7) is currently the second-longest throw in the MIAC and is 15th-best among NCAA Division III competitors nationally.
Sakariya Hussien (SO, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) cut almost three seconds off his previous personal-best time in the 1,500-meter run, finishing sixth in 4:06.75.
Parker Blake (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) set a personal-best time in the 200-meter dash, finishing fourth in 23.95 seconds, while finishing fifth in the 400-meter dash in 53.74 seconds.
• Fritz Landherr (SO, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) finished seventh in the 400-meter dash in 55.18 seconds, while also finishing sixth in the long jump with a 5.65-meter (18-feet-6.5) effort.
Varney Conneh (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) finished in fourth place in the 100-meter dash in 11.61 seconds.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Jada Lewis (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) finished in second place in the 100-meter dash in 13.10 seconds. Her season-best 12.46-second effort, set last week, remains the second-fastest time among MIAC sprinters this season.
Mya Bishop (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) set a personal-best 28.11-second time in the 200-meter dash, finishing fourth, while also finishing second in the 400-meter dash in 104.30.
Jordan Terry (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) finished second in the long jump with a 5.05-meter (16-feet-7.0) effort, her third finish of 16 feet or better this season.
