Auggies set personal bests at Tomcat Twilight

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Augsburg University sprinters and middle-distance runners set a myriad of outdoor personal-best times on Friday at the University of St. Thomas Tomcat Twilight men's and women's track and field meet.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Varney Conneh (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) scored a pair of personal-best times in leading the Auggie sprinters, finishing eighth in 11.21 seconds in the men's 100-meter dash, and finishing eighth in the 200-meter dash in 23.21 seconds. Teammate Taron Busby (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) finished ninth in the 100 in 11.33 seconds, while recording a 24.16-second time in the 200.
• Mitch Lamers (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) set personal-best times in both the 100 (11.73) and 200 (23.61), while Parker Blake (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) set a new best time in the 100 (11.76 seconds) and scored a 24.01-second time in the 200.
• Sakariya Hussien (SO, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) trimmed almost four seconds off his previous outdoor best time in the 800-meter run, finishing ninth in 2:00.19.
• In the 1,500-meter run, four Auggies set personal-best times -- Bereket Wondimu (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) by more than 12 seconds in 4:25.58, Aaron Puent (SO, La Crosse, Wis./La Crosse Aquinas HS) in 4:37.49, Greg Miller (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) in 4:37.57 and Kevin Sethre (JR, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) in 4:40.75. William McLeer (SR, Cobb, Wis./Iowa-Grant HS) finished in 5:16.17. 
• Evan Bergemann (JR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) had another strong effort in the javelin, finishing third in 49.39 meters (162-feet-0). He also finished 10th in the shot put with a 12.36-meter (40-feet-6.75) effort. David Frimpong (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) had an 8.88-meter (29-feet-1.75) throw.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Auggies Grace Hartman (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) and Camryn Masse (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) both set personal-best times in the women's 800-meter run, with times of 2:44.02 and 2:55.97, respectively.
• Jordan Terry (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) finished third in the long jump with a 5.09-meter (16-feet-8.5) effort, her fourth finish of 16 feet or better this season.
• Mya Bishop (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) just missed on setting another best time in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:04.28. She also ran a 29.12-second time in the 200-meter dash. Isabelle Daniels (SO, Sumner, Iowa/Sumner-Fredericksburg HS) finished with a 36.00-second time in the 200.
• Competing outdoors for the first time, A'jhianna Jackson (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) recorded an 8.75-meter (28-feet-8.5) effort in the shot put.
