Cade SheehanMINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University quarterback Cade Sheehan (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Football Offensive Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday. In addition, he was named was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Monday. 

Sheehan completed 24-of-35 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for a score, leading Augsburg to its third straight win, a 38-35 triumph over Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday, lifting the Auggies to a 6-2 record -- Augsburg's first season with six or more wins since the 2012 campaign (7-3 overall, 5-3 MIAC). Augsburg snapped an 11-season losing streak to Concordia, dating to a 2009 win in Moorhead, Minn. The win also snapped a nine-game losing streak at Edor Nelson Field to the Cobbers, dating to a win during Augsburg's 1997 MIAC championship season with current Auggie head coach Derrin Lamker '97 as the starting quarterback.

Sheehan claimed his third four-touchdown passing game of the season and seventh game with four or more touchdown passes in his career with Saturday's effort. He also rushed 14 times for 63 yards and a four-yard touchdown in the third quarter. On the season, Sheehan has now completed 157-of-246 passes for 1,925 yards and 19 touchdowns against seven interceptions, while also rushing 62 times for 227 yards and four touchdowns. He now has 50 career touchdown passes, now third-most in school history.

Sheehan is the 28th selection to the D3football.com Team of the Week from Augsburg since the award was established in 1999 by D3football.com, a national site that covers NCAA Division III football. D3football.com staff pick outstanding players at each position nationally for the Team of the Week.

Augsburg hosts Bethel this Saturday (11/5) at 1 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. Augsburg and Bethel both have 3-0 records in the MIAC Skyline Division, so the winner of this Saturday's game will play at the winner of the MIAC Northwoods Division on Nov. 12 for the MIAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III national tournament.
