Hensel earns second Player of the Week honor

Megan HenselMINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University forward/midfielder Megan Hensel (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) was named Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced on Monday.

Hensel had one goal in each of the Auggies' games in a 1-0-1 week for the team. In a 1-1 draw with the College of Saint Benedict on Tuesday, Hensel scored the game's equalizer in the 52nd minute. In a 2-1 win over Gustavus on Saturday, Hensel struck first with her fourth goal of the season to put the Auggies up 1-0 in the sixth minute.

Hensel now has four goals and three assists for 11 points on the season, part of an Augsburg attack that ranks third in the MIAC this season with 20 goals scored (2.0 per-game).

Augsburg, now 7-1-2 on the season, will play a pair of MIAC road contests this week, taking on Carleton College on Wednesday (9/4) at 3:30 pm and travelling to Moorhead, Minn. to take on Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday (9/7).
