Auggie track and field competes at Meet of the Hearts

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Northfield, Minn. for the second time in three weeks on Saturday, competing at the Carleton College Meet of the Hearts.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Getinat Asfaw (JR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) placed third and set a new personal record in the 1000-meter run, clocking the fifth-fastest time in school history at 2:34.52.
Trajen Clayton (FY) competed in the 55-meter hurdles for the first time in his career, placing third and recording Augsburg's eight-fastest time ever at 8.65 seconds.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Allison Hookom (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) took home individual titles in both the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, finishing the former in a new personal-best time of 26.77 seconds, the ninth-fastest in school history.
• Brooklyn Conrad (FY, Ortonville, Minn./Ortonville HS) placed sixth and set a new personal record in the 1000-meter run with a 3:16.63 effort, the seventh-fastest time in Augsburg history.
• Gracie Johnson (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) also etched her name in the Auggie record books in the mile run, clocking the tenth-fastest time in school history and setting a new personal record with a 5:31.77 clocking.
 • CC Cesare (FY, Crystal, Minn./Armstrong HS) improved on her third-farthest triple jump in school history with a jump of 9.98 meters, good for fourth place overall. 

UP NEXT
• The Auggies will compete at the Snowshoe Open hosted by the University of Minnesota on Friday, Feb. 17 with events beginning at 2 pm in what will be their final action ahead of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships the following weekend.
