MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams returned to the campus of the University of Minnesota on Friday afternoon, competing among Division I, II, and III competition at the Snowshoe Open.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Mohammed Bati (FY, Dodola, Ethiopia, GAP School) finished 10
th in the 3000-meter run, breaking Augsburg's indoor school record with a time of 8:39.40. Bati's time was more than two seconds faster than that of previous record-holder Michael Tesema's (8:42.07) in 2014.
•
Getinat Asfaw (JR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) set a new personal record in the 800-meter run, finishing fourth and clocking the second-fastest time in Augsburg history at 1:57.42.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• The Auggie women also saw a school record fall as
CC Cesare (FY, Crystal, Minn./Armstrong HS) cleared a new personal-best 10.37 meters in the triple jump, besting Natalie St. Louis' 1999 mark of 10.12 meters

Allison Hookom (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) set a new personal record and clocked the fifth-fastest 200-meter dash time in school history, finishing sixth with a time of 26.46 seconds.
•
Gracie Johnson (JR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) shaved nearly a minute off her previous personal record in the 3000-meter run, finishing seventh with a time of 10:46.28, also the fifth-fastest in program history.
UP NEXT
• The Auggies will now turn their attention toward the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next weekend. The Championships will be hosted on the campus of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. with events beginning on Friday (2/24) afternoon and continuing through the day on Saturday (2/25).
