FINAL RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Lexci Wuorenma (SO, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) swam one of the fastest 50-yard freestyles in Augsburg University women's swimming and diving team history, leading the Auggies at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, held from Wednesday to Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Five Augsburg swimmers competed at the MIAC Championships, coming up with season-best times in 13 of 14 individual events and all four relays.
• Wuorenma finished 25th in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries in 25.69 seconds, tied for the eighth-fastest time in the event in Augsburg history and almost a second better than her previous season-best time. She also cut almost six seconds off her season-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.91) and more than a second in the 100-yard freestyle (56.53 seconds). Her 22nd-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle was the top individual finish for the Auggies at the conference meet.
• Kaitlynne Haag (SO, Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) set season-best times in the 200-yard individual medley (2:27.29), 100-yard breaststroke (1:17.93) and 100-yard freestyle (58.93 seconds).
• Alina Fuhs (FY, Wiesmoor, Germany/KGS Wiesmoor HS) recorded season-best times in the 50-yard freestyle (31.03 seconds), 100-yard breaststroke (1:23.57) and 200-yard breaststroke (3:00.83).
• Lucy Pederson (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) set season-best times in the 200-yard freestyle (2:27.70) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:06.54).
• Maya Merritt (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) claimed season-best times in the 50-yard freestyle (36.71 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (1:20.66) and just missed a season-best in the 100-yard backstroke (1:27.61).
• Wuorenma, Fuhs, Haag and Pederson swam in all four Auggie relays, eclipsing season-best times in all four -- the 200-yard medley (2:06.55), 400-yard medley (4:45.71), 200-yard freestyle (1:50.29) and 400-yard freestyle (4:05.30).
