MEET RESULTS
PRESCOTT, Wis. – The Augsburg University men's and women's cross country teams opened their 2023 seasons with several solid individual efforts at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls River Town Twilight on Friday evening.

AUGSBURG MEN
•
Mohammed Bati (SO, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) picked up where he left off from last year's outstanding individual campaign, finishing third in the 92-runner men's competition, covering the 8,000-meter distance in 25:05.3, his seventh career sub-26-minute performance in his eight collegiate 8K races.
•
Zinabu Engstrom (SO, Colorado Springs, Colo./Coronado HS) made his Augsburg debut with a 25th-place finish (16th team), running in 27:15.1.
• Third across the finish line for Augsburg was
Getinat Asfaw (SR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS), who finished in 45th place (21st team) in 28:32.2.

Bereket Wondimu (JR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in 60th place (29th team) in 29:29.9, and
Shareef Oty (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) made his Auggie debut with a 62nd place (30th team), 29:37.3 finish.

Joseph Kubly (SO, Crystal, Minn. Robbinsdale Cooper HS) finished in 30:19.0,
Grayson Harris (JR, Littleton, Colo./Dakota Ridge HS) finished in 31:02.6,
Eman Clement (FY, Stone Mountain, Ga./Towers HS) finished in 31:37.3, and
Pollei Buux Caliyare (JR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished in 35:49.3.
AUGSBURG WOMEN
•
Gracie Johnson (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) finished 13th in the 77-runner women's competition with a 24:57.1 time over the 6,000-meter distance to lead four Augsburg runners in the competition.
•
Brooklyn Conrad (SO, Ortonville, Minn./ Ortonville HS) was second across the finish line for the Auggies, finishing in 28:00.4, good for 42nd place.

Aleka London (FY, Park Rapids, Minn./Park Rapids HS) made her collegiate debut with a 28:33.0, 46th-place finish, and
Annabel Lantz (JR, Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) finished in 72nd place in 33:35.4.

• Augsburg competes next at the Carleton Running of the Cows next Saturday (9/16) in Northfield, Minn. Men's race is at 10:30 a.m., and the women's race is at 11:30 a.m.
