ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams wrapped up a busy week on Saturday, competing at the Janis Rider/Doug Bolstorff Invitational on the campus of Macalester College.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Kameron Smith (FY, Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Summit HS) set a new personal record in the outdoor triple jump, finishing third with a mark of 12.65 meters. Smith also competed in the 100-meter dash, placing 18
th with a time of 11.78 seconds.
•
Getinat Asfaw (SR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) claimed sixth place in the 1500-meter run, clocking a time of 4:07.34. He also competed in the 400-meter dash, placing 17
th with a time of 53.74 seconds.
•
Hassan Abdi (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) set a pair of personal records, placing 21
st in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.43 seconds and grabbing 22
nd place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.60 seconds.
•
Bereket Wondimu (SR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) clocked a season-fast time in the 800-meter run, finishing in 2:04.77 to place 16
th.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Gracie Johnson (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) logged the highest overall finish for the Auggies and set a personal record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing second with a time of 11:46.81.
•
Takia Campbell (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished 27
th in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 13.98 seconds.

• The Auggies will compete at the Tommie Twilight on the campus of St. Thomas University on Wednesday, May 1.
