CSC ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA PROGRAM

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's wrestlers Charlie Stuhl (JR, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS) and Tyler Kim (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team in the NCAA Division III Men's At-Large Category, Stuhl as a first-team honoree for the second year in a row, and Kim for the first time as a second-team recipient, it was announced on Wednesday.

Stuhl is a finance and accounting major with a 3.98 grade-point average, while Kim is a graduate student in leadership (communications undergraduate major) with a 3.83 graduate GPA and 3.67 undergraduate GPA. Both Stuhl and Kim earned CSC Academic All-District honors in June, Stuhl for the second straight year.

Across all sports, Augsburg student-athletes have now been honored 55 times with College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America honors since 1981, including 45 honors since 2000 and at least one every year since 2011. Augsburg men's wrestlers have now earned 17 Academic All-America honors in program history.

In the men's at-large category, a total of 45 NCAA Division III student-athletes were selected (15 first-team, 16 second-team, 14 third-team) from 10 different NCAA men's sports -- fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Nine student-athletes repeated their Academic All-America honors from last season.

Charlie StuhlStuhl reached the NCAA Division III wrestling national championships for the second straight year at 149 pounds, finishing the 2023-24 campaign with a 25-6 record, with four pins, four technical falls and seven major decisions.

In the CSC Academic All-America program, top student-athletes are originally nominated for inclusion on Academic All-District teams by college and university sports information directors. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Sports information directors in each division vote to select Academic All-America honorees and the Academic All-America of the Year in each category.

The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
