Augsburg competes at Hamline Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams competed at its first outdoor meet in Minnesota on Monday, competing at the Hamline University Invitational.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Jamir Horton (SO, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) set a season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in fifth place in 59.31 seconds. Tyler Anderson (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) followed in seventh place in 1:00.07.
• Nick Norman (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS) made his Augsburg track and field debut in the javelin throw, finishing in fourth place with a 34.49-meter (113-feet-2) throw. D'Vante McElroy (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) set a personal-best 31.76-meter (104-feet-2) effort to finish seventh. McElroy also competed in the discus throw, with a 30.08-meter (98-feet-8) effort.
• Falens Byron (SO, Naples, Fla./Palmetto Ridge HS) and Foster Mulvehill (JR, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) both set personal-best times in the 100-meter dash, Byrons finishing in 11.16 seconds and Mulvehill finishing in 11.48 seconds.
• Evan Bitengo (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn./Anoka HS) finished in 56.27 seconds in the 400-meter dash. 
Paul Yang (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Washington Tech Magnet HS) set a personal-best time with a 2:05.08 time in the 800-meter run.
• Henry Nelson (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) set a personal-best 4:20.11 time in the 1,500-meter run.
• Augsburg's 4x100-meter relay of Byron, Mulvehill, Nahom Negassie (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) and Horton set a season-best time of 43.88 seconds to win the event.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Allison Hookom (SR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) led the Auggie women with a season-best 58.20-second time in the 400-meter dash, finishing in fifth place.
• Alwena Brix (SO, Plouay, France/Lycee Jean Mace, Rennes) set a season-best 2:38.02 time in the 800-meter run.
Davi Worman (SO, Edina, Minn./Groves Academy) finished with a 6:54.00 time in the 1,500-meter run.
Elise Ashland (FY, Columbia Heights, Minn./Minneapolis Edison HS) and Emaire Greene (FY, Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop John J. Snyder HS) competed in the 400-meter hurdles, with Ashland finishing in 1:16.99 and Greene finishing in a personal-best 1:17.46.
Ta'Kia Campbell (JR, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) set a season-best time of 13.73 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
