HAM LAKE, Minn. -- With three competitors finishing in the top 10 individually, the Augsburg University men's golf team claimed a third-place finish at its own Augsburg Fall Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at Majestic Oaks Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Brett Buckingham (SR, Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Area HS) paced the Auggies with a second-place individual finish in the 72-player field, following up a 1-over-par opening-round 73 with a 1-under-par second-round 71 for an even-par 36-hole total of 144. The 144 total ties Buckingham's career-best 36-hole score.
• Harrison Cooper (SR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) finished in a tie for seventh place overall with a 7-over-par 151 (72-79), and Gavin Metz (FY, Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) finished in a tie for 10th place with a 152 (75-77) total.
• River Goodmanson (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) finished in a tie for 32nd place with a 157 (79-78) score, and Billy Peterson (FY, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial HS) finished in a tie for 48th with a 161 (80-81) total.
• Competing for the Augsburg second team, Bob Harnagel (JR, Eagan, Minn./Eastview HS) led the way with a career-best 36-hole score of 158 (80-78), tying for 38th place. David Walker (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) tied for 41st place with a 159 (80-79) score, and Gunnar Goodmanson (JR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) shot 161 (81-80) to tie for 48th.
• Zach Stewart (FY, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished with a 169 (86-83) total, and Owen Goddard (FY, Hopkins, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) finished with a 170 (84-86) total.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Buckingham's second-place individual finish marked his 13th top-five finish and 20th top-10 finish in his 33 career tournaments as an Auggie. Teammate Cooper now has 13 top-10 finishes in his 33 career tournaments.
