COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships this weekend at Saint John's University's Warner Palestra.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• For the third straight year,
Jada Lewis (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison HS) claimed the conference championship in the 60-meter dash, winning the title with a 7.78-second sprint. Her school-record 7.67-second time, set last week, standsÂ
eighth-fastest among all NCAA Division III sprinters nationally. She also had a career-best second-place finish in the 200-meter dash, setting an indoor personal-best with a 25.96-second effort, currently standing 32nd-fastest in Division III.Â

Destiny Cummings (SO, Andover, Minn./Andover HS) competed in both weight events, finishing ninth in the weight throw with a 13.89-meter (45-feet-7.0) effort, while finishing 18th in the shot put with a 10.76-meter (35-feet-3.75) distance, both efforts just shy of her personal-bests set earlier this season.

Jordan Terry (SO, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) claimed a ninth-place finish for the Auggies in the long jump with a 4.96-meter (16-feet-3.25) leap, just four inches shy of her personal-best effort set last week.

Ann Sheely (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) finished 13th in the mile run in a career-best 5:32.34, withÂ
Zoe Barany (FY, Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield East HS) finishing in 27th in 5:46.19.

Joy Cooper (FY, Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS) finished 16th in the 60-meter dash preliminaries in 8.46 seconds.
• Augsburg's distance-medley relay squad of Sheely,
Hope Kannare (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS),
Riley Pohl (FY, Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) and Barany finished 11th in 13:40.60.
• As a team, Augsburg finished in a tie for 11th place with 18 points.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

•
Varney Conneh (FY, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) earned All-MIACÂ Honorable Mention honors with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash, finishing just four-hundredths of a second off his previous personal-best with a 7.07 second, sixth-place finish. He also competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing 19th in 23.78 seconds.

Jaison Moore (FY, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) finished in 10th place in the 60-meter dash preliminaries in 7.18 seconds, and finished 19th in the long jump with a 5.95-meter (19-feet-6.25) leap.
• Also in the 60-meter dash,
Taron Busby (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) set another personal-best time, finishing 14th in the preliminaries in 7.24 seconds.
Steven Edwards Jr. (SR, Kissimmee, Fla./Liberty HS) finished 24th in 7.61 seconds.

Alex Bailey (JR, Palmer Lake, Colo./Lewis-Palmer HS) finished 11th in the high jump with a 1.83-meter (6-feet-0.0) clearance, his fifth 6-feet-0 or better finish in his six competitions this indoor season.

Sakariya Hussien (FY, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) placed 15th in the mile run in 4:33.83, and 16th in the 1,000-meter run in 2:38.04
• The Auggies competed in two relays on the weekend, with the 4x200-meter relay of Busby, Conneh,
Gabriel Olajonlu (SO, Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) and Moore finishing ninth in 1:35.29, and the 4x400-metr relay of Olajonlu, Hussien,
Parker Blake (SO, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) and
Fritz Landherr (FY, Jackson, Minn./Tracy Area HS) finishing 10th in 3:35.82. Â
• As a team, Augsburg finished in 11th place with three points.
