Lewis, Bergemann lead Augsburg at Holst Invitational

MEET RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Evan Bergemann (JR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) won the men's javelin, while Jada Lewis (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Edison) recorded the second-best time in the MIAC thus far this season in the women's 100-meter dash, to lead the Augsburg University women's and men's track and field teams at Concordia University-St. Paul's Holst Invitational on Saturday.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Lewis finished as the top NCAA Division III finisher in the 100-meter field, clocking a season-best 12.48 seconds -- the second-fastest among MIAC sprinters this season. Lewis also finished as the top Division III finisher in the field with a 26.74 clocking in the 200-meter dash.
• Mya Bishop (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Highland Park HS) cut over a second off her 400-meter time last week, crossing the finish line with time of 1:04.04.
• Alisa Logan (FY, St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central HS) competed in the 100 meters, cutting nearly three-tenths of a second off her time a week ago, while Isabelle Daniels (SO, Sumner, Iowa/Sumner-Fredricksburg HS) competed in the 400-meters in her season debut.
• Grace Hartman (JR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) and Jordan Terry (JR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) competed in the 800 meters and long jump, respectively

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Evan Bergemann (JR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) continued his impressive spring in the javelin, winning the event with a throw of 52.41 meters (171-feet-11). Bergman maintains the top throw in the MIAC this season and is 10th-best among NCAA Division III competitors nationally.
• Finishing as the top NCAA Division III finisher in the 100-meters, Taron Busby (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) finished with a time of 11.30 seconds, nearly matching his career-best 11.27-second clocking a week ago.
• Kevin Sethre (JR, Berthoud, Colo./Berthoud HS) posted a career-best time in the 10,000 meters, shattering his previous personal-best time with a 36:40.71. Teammates Greg Miller (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center HS) and Aaron Puent (SO, La Crosse, Wis./La Crosse Aquinas HS) also competed in the 10,000 meters, finishing in seventh and eighth respectively.
• Bereket Wondimu (FY, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) claimed an event win in the 5,000 meters, cutting nearly seven seconds off his time a week ago, to finish in 17:52.52. Teammate William McLeer (SR, Cobb, Wis./Iowa-Grant HS) also competed in the event, claiming a third-place finish.
• In the sprint events, Mitch Lamers (SO, Rogers, Minn.) and Parker Blake (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) competed in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 24.08 and 24.32 respectively. Fritz Landherr (SO, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) and Blake competed in the 400-meters, finishing in 53.56 and 54.14 respectively.
• In the field events, Landherr posted a career-best mark in the long jump, finishing with a leap of 5.92 meters (19-feet-5.25-inches) and David Frimpong competed in shot put for the Auggies.

• Some of the Auggies return to action next weekend at the Hamline University Showcase, while the full squad competes on Friday, April 30 at the University of St. Thomas Tommie Twilight.
