HASTINGS, Minn. --
Stellan Orvick (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) earned All-MIAC Championship Team honors with an eighth-place individual finish, leading the Augsburg University men's golf team in its final meet of the 2021 spring season, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, held Friday to Sunday at Emerald Greens Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Orvick opened with a first-round 75, then shot a 2-under-par 70 and even-par 72 to finish with a 54-hole total of 1-over-par 217, finishing eighth overall in the 45-golfer field, earning All-MIAC Championship Team honors with his top-10 finish. His 217 finish is tied for the fourth-best 54-hole score for an Auggie since the 1994-95 season.
• Orvick is just the fifth Augsburg first-year golfer since the 1992-93 season to earn All-MIAC honors with a top-10 conference meet finish, joining Erik Helgerson, who accomplished the feat with a ninth-place finish in 2003; Todd Tourand, who finished second in 1995; Ben Erickson, who finished fifth in 1992; and
River Goodmanson, who finished fifth in 2019.

Bob Harnagel (SR, Eagan, Minn./Eastview HS) finished in 34th place with a 238 (78-83-77).

Zach Stewart (SO, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) finished in 41st place with a career-best 54-hole score of 245 (83-83-79), and
Gunnar Goodmanson (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) finished in 43rd place with a 251 (83-85-83) total.

Andrew Hicks (FY, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) was unable to play in the first round, but finished the final two rounds with rounds of 87 and 80.
• Augsburg finished in ninth place with a three-day total of 948 (319-321-308), with its final round 308 the team's best single-round score of the season.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Orvick finished the 2021 spring season with a 74.1 stroke average, with a .904 (150-16) win-loss percentage. His 74.1 average ranked eighth-best among MIAC golfers in overall statistics this season.
• As a team, Augsburg finished the 2021 campaign with a 320.5 team stroke average, competing in four meets (eight rounds).
