2021-22 DIVISION III MEN'S ALL-USCHO TEAMS

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University men's hockey forward
Austin Martinsen (SR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) was named to the 2021-22 Division III Men's All-USCHO Team as a first-team honoree, it was announced this week.
The award was the latest for Martinsen, the
2021-22 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, who was also named as a
CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association Division III West Region All-America first-team honoree, and was one of 12 finalists for the AHCA's Sid Watson Award, given to the best NCAA Divisions II/III men's hockey player in the country.
Martinsen is the fourth Auggie to earn Division III All-USCHO Team honors from
USCHO.com, a national website that covers college hockey.
Rory Vesel earned third-team honors in 2017, and
Alex Rodriguez (second team) and John O'Connor (third team) each earned honors in 2019. A total of 18 players were named to the Division III Men's All-USCHO Teams, made up of three six-man squads.
Martinsen served as team captain this year, the leader of Augsburg's run to its 11th MIAC regular-season title in 2021-22, its seventh appearance in the NCAA Division III national tournament and third appearance in the national semifinals. Augsburg finished the 2021-22 season with a 25-5-0 overall record, 14-2-0 in MIAC play.
Playing in his fifth season as an Auggie, Martinsen had a dominant campaign, becoming the ninth player in Augsburg men's hockey history to earn MIAC Player of the Year honors. In 30 games this season, Martinsen finished with 16 goals and 22 assists for a team-best 38 points, leading the
MIAC's overall statistics in points while tied for second in goals and tied for second in assists. He scored a goal or assist in 24 of his 30 games this season, with nine multi-point games. Martinsen had five power-play goals, tied for third-most among MIAC players, and his plus-12 plus-minus rating was 14th-best among MIAC players.
In 105 career games as an Auggie, Martinsen has 36 career goals and 53 assists for 89 points, including nine power-play goals and 10 game-winning goals, with a plus-32 career plus-minus rating.
