Bergemann, Conneh compete at UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Just five days after the Minnesota Intercollegatie Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships wrapped up, Augsburg track and field's Evan Bergemann (SR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) and Varney Conneh (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) both competed at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Thursday afternoon with one last chance to improve their top marks this season. 

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Bergemann competed in the javelin throw, landing in third place overall with a distance of 52.14 meters.That mark was just behind his throw of 52.99 meters at the MIAC Outdoor Championships that earned him all-conference honors just a week prior. On the season, Bergemann's top mark of 55.69 meters at the Meet of the UnSaintly, an Augsburg University school record, ranks him second in the Minnesota Intercollegaite Athletic Conference and 46th in all of NCAA Division III.
• Conneh participated in the 100-meter dash, qualifying for finals after finishing ninth in the preliminaries with a time of 10.89 seconds, setting a new personal record in the preliminaries for the second meet in a row. In the finals, he clocked a time of 11.03 seconds to finish eighth overall.
